Air Excavation Tools and Compactors
Air Excavation Tools
Air excavation offers an alternative to traditional hand excavation, especially around buried utilities or tree roots. MCA offers a range of tools suitable for a variety of applications.
Our range includes:
Tornado Barhole Excavation Tool – Simple, robust design that uses compressed air to extract permeated gas.
MBW SP125 Soil Pick - The Soil Pick is a selective excavator. It fractures, pulverizes and displaces porous and semi-porous soils, yet leaves non-porous objects unaffected. The soil pick breaks up soil without risk of damaging buried utilities or tree roots. The soil pick is non conductive and incorporates a non-sparking brass nozzle.
MBW Soil Vac - The Soil Vac can lift and remove particles up to 50mm including MOT type one material. After ground has been broken up and loosened with a soil pick, the excavation can be cleared of material using the Vac. Weighing less than 9kg the Soil Vac is fully portable and can easily be stored in the back of a van when not in use. When fitted with a VB attachment, valve boxes can be safely cleared in seconds.
Compactors
More utility companies are taking steps to reduce the size of excavations and therefore ever smaller compactors are required, the tool of choice is often a pneumatic pole tamper with its inherent hand/arm vibration problems. However, MCA can offer an alternative.
MBW Ergo Tamp - The ERGO-TAMP reduces hand/arm vibration by up to 70%, allowing for some variation as conditions of compaction change. The vibration absorption system easily handles the range of amplitudes typical of pneumatic tampers and is cooled by a constant flow of compressed air through its working mechanism.
