Repair and calibration
All repair, refurbishment and calibration is carried out to the highest standards by factory trained and authorised engineers to industry and manufacturers’ specifications. Temporary replacement equipment can usually be provided to customers and our prompt service ensures minimum disruption to projects. MCA Hire offers a national collection service through our regional depot network.
Mechanical Repairs
Our workshops provide repair and test facilities for all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment used in the jointing and installation of PE and metal pipelines. Our engineers, where appropriate, are OEM trained and backed by 25 years experience of providing full back-up to the gas and water utilities industry.
Callbration and Repair
Cable Location: MCA have operated an authorised repair facility for Radiodetection products for the past 18 years. We currently provide full repair & calibration for CAT 1 & 11 units at most of our depots and are providing CAT 3, CAT+ & RD2000 calibrations facilities at selected locations. We also provide a calibration and repair facility for C-Scope tooling. Our depots carry a full range of spares and accessories for cable location equipment and will be happy to provide full support and advice on the safe and proper use of this equipment.
Electrofusion: MCA provide full calibration and repair facilities for most of the current boxes in use.
CCTV: We operate an authorised test and repair facility for Pearpoint survey equipment.
Under Pressure Drilling Equipment: MCA provide a full test, repair and certification service for all types of U/P drilling equipment currently used in the gas and water sectors.
We are the authorised suppliers and repairers for Wask and Pipetech equipment and carry a full range of genuine spares and accessories to support these tools. We provide full pressure test and certification for U/P equipment and can provide test recall and operator training if required.
Breathing Equipment: We supply full test and refurbish facilities for fresh air & turboflow breathing equipment to meet current gas regulation requirements. Our technicians are OEM trained and can carry out this work on-site by arrangement.
Gas Detection and Pressure Testing: Our depots provide calibration and repair facilities for Gasgoseekers, MSA personal monitors, Comark & Druck pressure instruments. We also carry new equipment and hire units in stock.
Under Pressure Drilling & Bagging Equipment: We provide full service, repair and test certification for gas and water, service and branch drilling machinery to meet current industry requirements.
P.A.T. Testing
Our depots provide full PAT testing facilities to meet current regulations and can offer full van kit testing by arrangement. We can also provide a plant recall facility to ensure that teams are not taken off the road due to inspection failure.
Tagging and Plant History
We are currently installing a plant tagging system which will allow plant items to be scanned allowing their full history of repair and calibration to be viewed. The system will also recall items when they fall due for calibration or servicing, reducing the need to continuously maintain and review plant records.
